National clothing has vital force and established traditions. N.I. Hagen-Torn –

           an ethnographer – has come to a conclusion that Chuvashes managed to preserve

           the ancient style of clothing best of all the peoples lived in the Volga Region «Women clothing of

           the Volga Region». The Chuvash embroidery achieved the high perfection in composition forms

           and colour combinations in comparison with other peoples of Russia. The show of traditional Chu

           vash clothes of the 18th – 21st centuries from the museum funds and collections of the leading

           modellers of Chuvashia enables to see the ornaments. Each piece of clothing had its own tracery of

           a definite composition form and colour combination, it contained complex images presenting certain

           ideas and notions about the universe.
